Ninja Zen is a sleep aid supplement manufactured by Ninja Supplements. It is also described as a “lucid dreaming” aid, deep sleep aid with strong “knock-out” power.
Nutri Cartel was awesome to send us a sample unit for this review.
In summary, we enjoyed Ninja Zen and continue to use it once or twice a week. I personally only use a full serving once a week as it was too strong for me and left me groggy in the morning. I just use 1/2 of the recommended serving and that worked nicely for me.
I’d recommend Ninja Zen to those looking for a supplement to help them fall asleep faster and stay asleep that have been using other sleep aids but have not found something helpful. I also recommend starting with 1/2 a dose to gauge how it impacts your wakefulness in the morning.

Our Experience with Ninja Zen

I’ve used Zen many times over the last few months.
Ninja’s sleep support supplement Ninja Zen delivers in all of the areas it aims to, from improved sleep and relaxation to better recovery and repair. The first thing you’ll notice with the product, which is also one of its most impressive effects, is its ability to knock you out.
Ten to twenty minutes after taking Ninja Zen, you’ll find yourself getting drowsy, and if you’re lying down anywhere, it won’t’ be long before you’re asleep. Even on nights you may not be feeling overly tired or ready to sleep; you throw down a serving of Zen, and it’ll work its magic. The effect is definitely not gradual; it’s a very sudden sleepiness that is next to impossible to ignore.
I personally prefer my favorite sleep aid, Sueno as it does what it says and does not leave me groggy in the morning.
Ninja Zen Side Effects
As I noted above, I experienced grogginess up waking when taking a full or half dosage of Ninja Zen. A 1/2 dosage ended up working for me.
I am not really sure which ingredient is causing this side effect for me, I think its the Phenibut.
Flavor
I had Blueberry Tea It’s nice and blueberry. I have no complaints.
Ninja Zen Ingredients

Magnesium
More than 300 enzyme systems in the body use magnesium as a cofactor, including those that regulate protein synthesis, muscle and nerve function, blood glucose levels, and blood pressure regulation. Energy production, oxidative phosphorylation, and glycolysis all require magnesium.
Myo-Inositol
Foods contain inositol, a sugar made in the body. Inositol comes in nine forms. The most common supplements contain myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol.
It may assist with mental conditions such as panic disorder, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder by balancing certain chemicals in the body. It may assist with insulin function as well.
GABA
GABA is a neurotransmitter that inhibits nerve impulses in the brain. Researchers suspect GABA boosts mood or calms and relaxes the nervous system.
L-Theanine
L-theanine is an amino acid that may aid in relaxing and reducing anxiety.
L-Phenylalanine
This amino acid is considered to be essential.
KSM-66 Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha extract KSM-66 is the highest concentration root-only extract on the market today, KSM-66 Ashwagandha has been clinically proven to:
- Help reduce stress, anxiety, cortisol levels and stress-related food cravings
- Help promote enhanced memory and cognitive function
- Help promote endurance, strength, muscle size and muscle recovery rate
Lavender Extract
Lavender is in this formula for possibly reducing anxiety, stress, and insomnia.
L-Tryptophan
The body relies on L-tryptophan, an amino acid, for many of its functions. L-tryptophan converts into 5-HTP, which is then converted into serotonin. Signals between nerve cells are transmitted by serotonin. This is an amino acid found in turkey thats responsible for the sleepiness of Thanksgiving.
Lemon Balm Extract
The effects of lemon balm are sedatives and calming.
5-HTP
The chemical serotonin is increased by 5HTP in the brain and nervous system. Sleep, appetite, temperature, sexual behavior, and pain perception are all affected by serotonin.
Melatonin
The body produces this hormone. Sleep-wake cycles are regulated by this hormone. By taking this your body improves the signaling its time to wind down.
Darkness signals the body to sleep by increasing melatonin production. Melatonin production is decreased when the body is exposed to light. A low level of melatonin may contribute to difficulty sleeping. Melatonin supplements are thought to help them sleep.
SUMMARY
All in all, the knockout power of the product is truly impressive, and that is in addition to the deep sleep. Once again, Zen is one of the best sleep supplements we’ve had in years, and there wasn’t a night we used it, and it didn’t perform. Only con is sometimes you may wake up groggy or this may be too strong with the phenibut.
